Position-Specific Expertise Meets Local Knowledge

My Story

I grew up playing football in Gilbert and Chandler. Went through Chandler Unified School District, played receiver, and learned what it takes to compete at this position. After playing, I stayed in the game—studying it, coaching it, living it. Sports has really been my identity. The way I view sports is it's the vehicle to unlock your human potential when it comes to young individuals.

Now I'm back coaching the same kids in the same school district where I grew up. I know what you're going through because I went through it with you. I know what local coaches are teaching, what works and what doesn't, and what college coaches are actually looking for. That local connection matters—I understand your exact path because I've walked it.

I started 84 Footwork because I saw a gap. Arizona produces quarterbacks—we have tons of QB coaches. But receivers? Not many people focus exclusively on position-specific receiver training. Not general speed and agility work. Not training for all positions. Just receivers and tight ends, with the technical depth and football IQ development that these positions demand. That's what we do here, and we go deep on every detail.

How We're Different

Receiver training shouldn't be generic athletic work. We focus exclusively on receivers and tight ends, going deep on technical details that general programs don't have time to address. That depth of specialization is what creates real results.

Receivers & Tight Ends Only

We focus exclusively on receiver and tight end skills. Not general athletic training. Not all positions. Just skilled positions, with depth of focus on stance mechanics, footwork, route concepts, hand fighting, release packages, football IQ. That specialization is what allows us to go really deep on the technical details that make the difference.

  • Position-specific expertise at every level of detail
  • Technical mastery from stance through break point
  • Football IQ development that elevates beyond physical skills

Why We Do Things This Way

I could run generic speed drills and call it receiver training. I could focus only on the flashy stuff that looks good on Instagram. I could train every athlete exactly the same way regardless of their level. But that's not how you actually develop receivers. Foundation first. Customized progression. Football IQ alongside physical skills. That's what creates college opportunities.

Build From the Ground Up

Building a foundation is always going to be the best approach—good stance and understanding standard body movements, keeping everything underneath your shoulders, working on get-offs and route concepts. You can't skip the fundamentals and expect to run elite routes. Every receiver who plays at the next level has mastered the basics first. That's where we start.

  • Stance work and body positioning
  • Footwork mechanics and get-off technique
  • Route stem fundamentals before advanced concepts

Behind the Scenes

Effective receiver training requires assessment, customization, and consistent progression. Here's what happens from your first assessment to ongoing skill development—and how we build athletes who actually understand the position.

From Assessment to Development

Every athlete starts with an assessment—I gauge where you're at, how many years you've played, what your body type is like, what other sports you've done. Then I build a customized progression from there. A varsity receiver and a freshman are at two different standpoints, so what I work on with one will be different from what I work on with another. Foundation first, then we build.
